On-Line Chinese Characters Recognition by Means of Symbolic Learning

摘要

This paper describes an original on-line recognition syslcni for free-format handwritten Chinese characters, which can also deal with japanese characters and nom Vietnamese characters. An electromagnetic data tablet is used as ;tu input device. Isolated characters, written down stroke by stroke, are codified with the help of graphic primitives. Their recognition is carried out by means of logical rules extracted from the character representation, by means of a symbolic learning algorithm. Our recognition procedure is able to explain and justify its own choice, and then can be very useful for learners of chinese or Japanese writings. In this paper, we will also give some experimental results.
