Abstract: Er:YSGG laser ablation of fresh and oven-dried bone was quantified by measuring the mass lost during single pulse irradiation of tissue. The results indicate a statistically significant difference between the ablation of fresh and oven-dried bone. The difference is, however, not as great as would be expected from the difference in 2.78-$mu@m absorption as measured using attenuated total reflectance.!
