Applicability of CIELAB Volume Metric to the Latest Electronic Displays

We evaluated the colour performance of the latest self-emissive displays based on the CIELAB colour volume metric. Thewhite reference point was set at (1) white with a 25% window, (2) absolute value, (3) white with a 100% window. None of thereference whites resulted perfectly satisfactorily on its own, but the combination of these results was reasonable. The CIELABvolume metric with the appropriate normalization can be a great tool for evaluating the latest self-emissive display.
