The corrosion resistance of MoSi_2 materials was investigated in molten alkali borosilicate glass under static and dynamic conditions and compared to other refractory materials. The corrosion resistance was evaluated by measuring dimensional changes above, at, and below the molten glass line. It is shown that the MoSi_2 materials were generally superior in performance to the other refractory materials with the exception of MgO stabilized zirconia and AZCS, which were superior to MoSi_2 at the glass line, but exhibited relatively similar corrosion rates above and below the glass line.
