The leading role in maintaining the continuing airworthiness of aircraft type is played by the approved organization responsible for the aircraft maintenance. The necessary documents relating to the continuing airworthiness are: 1. Manual of procedures for operations, certification and inspection (Doc 8335); 2. Manual of procedures for airworthiness organization (Doc 9389); and, 3. The continuing airworthiness of aircraft in service (ICAO Circular 95). In this paper, aging aircraft and modifications are considered briefly.
