The applicability of a scallop to chemical heat pump (CHP) using CaO/H_2O/Ca(OH)_2 hydration of Calcium Oxide and dehydration of Calcium Hydroxide as a new original material for the reaction systems were examined by thermogravimetry experiments. As a result, the scallop CaO decomposed from scallop CaCO_3 is found to work as a reactant for CaO/H_2O/Ca(OH)_2 CHPs by some treatments of hydratioa repetition. The surface area of scallop CaO was improved from 0.6 m~2/kg to 4.2 m~2/kg by seven times hydration repetition.
