Evaluation of Diversion System on Urban Expresswaywith Traffic Simulator

The diversion system on urban expressway has been proposed as a measure to dissolve therntraffic congestion in city centre. The system can be determined as a method of trafficrnmanagement with the promotion for detour from congested sections. The fundamentalrnconcept of diversion system is described. The diversion system on Hanshin Expressway isrnassumed as a real size network. Effects of the diversion system implementation can bernevaluated with the traffic simulator. It would be concluded that the implementation of therndiversion system can provide the efficient traffic as a practical traffic management method.
