The New Jersey Department of Transportation – Office of Bicycle and PedestrianrnPrograms (NJDOT-OBPP) with consultants Michael Baker Jr., Inc. and Toole DesignrnGroup LLC have performed a Multi-Modal Access and Mobility Study at The College ofrnNew Jersey (TCNJ), Ewing Township, New Jersey. TCNJ is located on 289 acres,rnapproximately 5 miles from the State Capital of Trenton. The study was performed inrnpartnership with TCNJ to improve conditions for bicyclists and pedestrians on campusrnand immediately off campus. The objective of the study was to develop a conceptualrnaccess and mobility plan with the goal of improving the safety and mobility ofrnpedestrians and bicyclists who access the campus and to improve navigation on and offrncampus for all modes that access the college.rnThis paper highlights the unique planning and analytical methods used involving thernstudents, faculty, neighboring community and local government.
