摘要

Surface models that are widely used in GIS and CAD in recent years include inverse distance weight (IDW), linear interpolation (including TIN), the Kriging, and the Spline. However, these classic surface models exist error problems and are difficult to be used to conduct multi-scale data fusion and multi-source information fusion. Therefore, an innovational method of High Precision Surface Modelling is constructed in light of mathematics of surfaces. Numerical tests show that HPSM precision is at least 2700 times higher than the classical models. HPSM has given solutions to error problems and to multi-scale problems that have long perplexed the CAD world and the GIS world.
