Mapping China Using MODIS Data: Method, Software and Data Products

摘要

This paper presents a software system which processes automatically MODIS 1B data to generate products covering global China. The algorithms for LAI (MOD15), land cover classification (MOD12), land surface reflectance (MOD09) and aerosol (MOD04) have been redesigned. The inputs for these algorithms are local parameters, which can decrease the uncertainties derived from the input Some new products, which don't exist in NASA standard product, have been designed, which include the forest burned scar, PAR. The data processing system has operationally run in National Data Center for Resources and Environment, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. The system for fire monitoring has been developed and run routinely in Chinese Ministry of Forest.
