In this paper a practical method for dynamic fatigue assessment ofjacket-type offshore structure is investigated. Fatigue is a primary modeof failure for steel structures that are subjected to dynamic loads. Foroffshore structures the main source of fatigue inducing stress range areocean waves. The spectral approach to fatigue analysis is an attempt toaccount for the random nature of a confused sea in a rational manner.An accurate procedure for the random vibration computation ofstructure is developed using frequency domain techniques. To illustratethe aforementioned methodology, a jacket type offshore platform in thePersian Gulf has been selected.
