The concentration and size of suspension after storm in the NingJin seaarea were studied based on measured data. The vertical meansuspension concentration increased by more than 50% after a stormcontrasted to normal weather, the granularity of the suspension becamefiner with the increased content of clay, and the grain peak and mediumsize by Φ value also increased. The trend of suspension concentrationincreased gradually from surface to bottom, and the particle size fromsurface to bottom grew courser. This indicates that two processes leadto these phenomena; one was that the local sediment re-suspended inthe storm and the coarse particles settled again rapidly, and another wasthat the fine silt and clay on the tidal flat in Shidao bay was started andtransported north to NingJin Sea.
