Hydro power is a renewable energy that has had a greater influence on peoples' lives during the 20th Century than at any other time. Hydropower played a major role in making the wonders of electricity a part of everyday life and helped spue industrial development. Tidal power is one way to harness the energy in water. This paper presents a design of tidal power plant to generate the electrohydro energy from Red Sea in Egypt as a large amount of energy is stored in tides. It is noticed that the tidal technology is a new and improved system for harnessing the sea tides and for reducing the economic and environmental problems. Also the remote locations offer an opportunity to build small tidal generators (1 to 10MW). This work presents a new idea to generate limited electrical energy depending on the nature of tide of the Red Sea. A design of tidal system is presented to feed a limited DC load near to the beach. DC load is chosen as there is DC lighting beside the beach. Also, an optimization control problem is solved to operate the generating tidal system at the optimal values of the affected system parameters. The paper is very interesting as it studies a renewable energy source which must be taken into our consideration as it is an economic and friendly environment.
