Motion Recognition and Finger Detection for Gesture Recognition and HCI

摘要

In this paper we describe a system for an effective and fast finger detection that can be used for further gesture recognition. This system includes a robust real-time motion detection method based on Mahalanobis distance, and a finger detection scheme that employs Canny edge detection to not only locate fingers in the input sequence, but also to detect the direction of each finger.
