Intranet 2.0: Fostering Collaboration

How time flies! July 2001 saw the birth of the Jenkins Law Library intranet. The staff was thrilled-an actual Web-based intranet. Prior to 2001, the "intranet" was a shared folder on the network. Now the staff could download important HR forms, search for policies and procedures, and submit requests for information via the Web. On top of all of that, it was organized by departments. What more could they ask for? As it turned out, a lot!rnBy 2005, our intranet was exploding with information and documents, so much so that people had stopped searching for files and just asked us where the files were or-worse-stopped using the intranet altogether. It was time for a change.
