Computer Modelling and Finite Element Analysis of Tube Forming Operations

摘要

Some case studies on application of FEM based simulation to different tube forming processes are discussed. Based on the simulation results we can conclude that FEM is an important design tool which can be used for process optimization and design of tube forming processes. Innovative design modifications can be tested on the computer using FEM and the optimised process can be developed and got right at the first try-out in the shop floor thereby minimizing costly and tedious experimentation.
