Modular Tire Manufacturing Cells - The VMI Solution

Modular Tire Manufacturing (MTM) is a new concept for the production of car tires. It is the answer to the recent developments in the tire industry, asking for high quality more flexibility and lower costs per tire. MTM is designed for radial tire technology and is extremely flexible (lot sizes can be as small as three tires). The agile MTM system includes on-line fabrication of components (by direct extrusion), tire building, curing and inspection. The MTM tire building is based on single-stage technology and uses mainly standard equipment and technology. Typical production capacity of an MTM cell is between 1000 and 2000 tires per day.
