摘要

The pressure integrated process is a new and potentially useful concept for production of H_2 from carbonaceous fuel. It uses a novel combination of gasification and metal oxidation-reduction reactions, and captures sequestration-ready liquid CO_2 and SO_2. The system is particularly simple since gas compression is not required to liquefy the gas, and nitrogen is excluded without an air separation plant. Preliminary calculations show that over 50% of the energy content of carbon consumed is converted to H2 and over 25% to mechanical work. This paper covers preliminary system design concepts, thermodynamic calculations and a review of relevant prior art.
