Interactions in clays in relation to geoenvironmental engineering

摘要

The interactions in clay soils are examined relative to their influence on some typical Geoenvironmental Engineering situations. Particle-to-particle together with particle-porewater interactions, and the various interactions involving the functional groups of soils and contaminants are seen to be the major elements which control many of the physico-chemical and transmission properties and performance of the soils in relation to many Geoenvironmental Engineering problems.
