@@Since pseudopoly(amino acids) was proposed by Langer, this kind of conventional poly(amino acids) analogue has been expected to fulfill the medical and industrial applications, benefiting from the compatibility as well as poly(amino acids) and great flexibility in designing a wide variety of polymers. With a side hydroxyl group, serine is one of the ideal amino acid to synthesize polyesters and to incorporate amino acid with lateral amino group to other polymers by ester bonds. So far, several groups have developed the methods to synthesize poly(serine ester), including catalysis polycondensation of Nprotection serine and ring opening polymerization of N-protection serine lactone.
