Analysis for Externality of Port-centered Industrial Cluster

摘要

Along with economic globalization, development of the world economy increasingly relies on some key port areas and industrial cluster around these ports. In China, port centered industrial clusters have not been well developed though coastal ports grown at rapid speed. This paper focuses its discussion on external economy and diseconomy of port-centered industrial clusters. The conclusion drawn is that external economy of port-centered cluster mainly results from scale of the clusters and externality of technological diffusion.
