摘要

This paper presents the results of experimental and numerical simulations of fast slope movements by 1g scale model tests. The soil used for modeling is a mono-granular medium sand. The aim is to gain insights into the understanding of these phenomena for the prediction of the run-out distance and of the impact forces on obstacles. Also of interest is the validation of Discontinuum Element Modelling (DEM), when used for the same purposes. The experimental set-up comprises a flow channel with the photogrammetric method being adopted to obtain particle displacements and velocities.
