Measurement of Power Frequency Electric Magnetic Field in a 500kV Substation

Measurement of power frequency electric & magnetic field (PEMF) in a 500kV air insulated substation has been conducted. The distribution of power frequency electric & magnetic field along certain routes and magnitudes beside equipments are reported. The results of measurement are compared with the guidelines in standards. The results show that the values of power frequency electric and magnetic field accord with the guidelines of ICNIRP, but the values of electric field in 500kV equipment area and magnetic field around reactor exceed the guidelines of national standard, which should be paid enough attention in electric power industry.
