Strategy of Environment and Development in China

摘要

More than five years have past since the UN Conference on Environment and Development was held in Rio de Janeiro. In this five years countries of the world have made progress in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development. Right after the Conference, based on the country's specific conditions of population, environment and development, the Chinese government put forward ten major measures of environment and development and approved the China's Agenda 21 in March 1994. In this document, the Chinese government clearly indicated its idea on the overall strategy, principles and measures, and programs of action for sustainable development.
