Physical, Chemical and Biological Processes of Geoenvironmental Reclamation at Gevra Open Cast Project (SECL)-A Case Study

There is appreciable improvement in climate and environment due to judicious measures taken against Land degradation at Gevra Project. All the ingradients of environment namely Air, Water, Noise, land, Fauna & Floura are taken care by proper implementation of a well planned reclamation programme, to the U.S for agricultural land , the original productivity of the premining agricultural land use is to be restored by Soil conditioning & use of chemicals. Our endeavor should be to return the land resource to the society in a better form than the one we received for mining purposes. The mining has a finite life, but the land use by the society would continue indefinitely. Whatever improvement we can do would be for the benefit of original inhabitants & migrants to that society.
