Starting with structure, sedimentation and the development and evolution of hydrocarbon source rocks, we studied the petroleum geological characteristics of neritic area. In this basin, due to polymerization of multiphase tectonic movements such as Indosinian movement, Yanshanian movement and Himalayan movement, there developed multiple reservoirs, poly cyclic sedimentary formations with multiple reservoirs and caps, many series of hydrocarbon source rocks, many types of oil generating materials and multivariate generation. "Centripetal model" is the evolution law of depocenter. Since late tertiary, heat flow value reduced gradually and new tectonic movements are violent. Stratigraphic overpressure is present generally. All these phenomena determine that the hydrocarbon accumulation pattern is also multiphase with the major is Paulopost accumulation. In horizon, accumulating structural zones distributed annularly around buried hill drape structures, and buried hill drape structural zones and rupture structural zones are the main ones. Vertically, the accumulation pattern has typical "three stories" with upper accumulating grouping is the major oil reservoir. Such positive areas as buried hill drape structural zones, abrupt slope rupture structural zones and low-angle slope structural zones will be the main directions of future exploration in neritic area.
