摘要

Clamping devices with constant force or pressure are desired in surgical operation to prevent soft tissues from injures due to overloading. This paper studied design issues in constant-force components using shape memory alloys (SMA). Numerical results show that the phenomenon of constant-force strongly depends on the initial shape and geometric dimensions of the SMA component. The relation between the internal stress distribution in SMA and displacement-force behavior is discussed.
