摘要

In this paper, the study of traffic-induced environmental vibrations and their influences on surrounding buildings by the Northern Jiaotong University in the past years is summarized. The characteristics of ground, underground and viaduct railway traffic induced ground vibrations, their distribution versus the distances to the traffic lines, and their influences on surrounding buildings are analyzed by the results from the numerical simulations where the numerical model of vehicle-(bridge or tunnel)-ground-building system is established and the vibration responses of the surrounding ground and the nearby buildings are calculated; and several field experiments from which the ground accelerations and the vibrations of the nearby buildings are measured.
