Modelling of Soil Vibrations from Metro Tunnels in Sevilla

By means of FEM model it has been determined whether the metro tunnel in Sevilla will cause annoying vibrations in the neighbourhood of the tunnel. Several cross sections of the tunnel have been modelled taking into account local soil conditions and the specific tunnel construction. Together with the tunnel construction three different types of rail constructions have been examined. It appeared that for each tunnel with each superstructure no inconvenience has to be expected according to guideline ISO 2631.
