摘要

Long since, sedimentary fades of footwalls and roofs have been used to determine the depositional environments of coalbeds and coal fades change have been employed to represent differences in types and water depth of peat swamp. In the present paper, authors regard the coalbeds and stone bands as a sedimentary body deposited under specified conditions and established a new coal-forming model according to the study ideas and methods of modern sedimentology, taking the syndepositional storm - influenced extrathick slump coalbeds and associated gravity influenced muddy interlayers as an example.
