摘要

Traction is a major application for power electronics. With the development of power semiconductor devices, the circuit topologies and drive properties of traction also get improvement. Nowadays, IGBT are the most important power semiconductors for traction inverters up to MW range. The launch of 6.5kV IGBT makes the traction converter design for 3kV grid line easier. However, traction needs further optimization. One big concern is to increase power density; another is the reliability, these all call for high quality and power density IGBT.
