Structure and properties of polymeric xerogel based on polyacrylonitrile filled in with a nematic mixture ZhK-1282 has been investigated. The morphology of the new composite material represents a polymer network with sizes of pores equal to 25 - 50 蘭 filled in with the liquid crystal. Electrooptical transition "opaque - transparent" is observed in the material at 15 V.
