摘要

A new method that can display fine depth in a stereoscopic display is proposed. In usual stereoscopic displays, depth can be presented by binocular disparity. Binocular disparity less than one pixel cannot be displayed because usual electronic displays have discrete pixels. We combined binocular disparity and modulation of the edge luminance in the DFD (depth-fused 3D) technology. In the experiment, depth could be continually changed only by modulating edge luminance. Therefore, we suggest that fine depth can be produced by combining binocular disparity and modulation of edge luminance distribution.
