A FRAMEWORK FOR POLICY BASED COORDINATED ADAPTATION IN MOBILE SYSTEMS

In this paper we identify the drawbacks of the current system models used for the purpose of adaptation and then propose a framework for policy based coordinated adaptation in mobile systems. While designing a framework for mobile systems, it is important that the mobile devices are subjected to the least amount of overhead. Hence mobility and thin clients are given utmost significance. The key component of this framework is the 'Policy Server', which has all the system policies and governs the rules for adaptation. We also simulated our framework and subjected it to various adaptation scenarios to demonstrate the working of the system as a whole.
