摘要

Lead is one of the highly toxic ions is very often encountered in Industrial effluents. With a view to evolve simple and cost effective method for the remediation of lead from aqueous solutions, its adsorption at the surface of underutilized minerals has been under investigation by us and in the present paper we report the results of our preliminary studies on adsorption of lead at Indian talc mineral surface. The effects of quantity of adsorbent, contact time and lead ion concentration in the test solutions on adsorption process has been investigated. The kinetics of adsorption process of lead ions on talc surface has been evaluated and observed to follow the first order reaction kinetics.
