A mathematical model for the analysis of the rectangular machine foundations on a layered medium

A mathematical model to predict the response of a rectangular machine foundation sitting on the surface of a layered medium is introduced. Model assumes that the displacements at base are zero; applied force and displacements are in the vertical direction and both harmonic; material and/or geometric properties of layers of foundations could be different.
