摘要

A brand new type of structure, called spatial folded plate triangular lattice structure, is applied in the design of Guangzhou Opera House. This kind of structure has not been used in any completed building around the world. The new structure has the similar form as single-layer steel shell, but possesses totally different structural behavior. This paper introduces the structure design process. The principle of structure layout, working characteristic and analysis result, which includes modal analysis, linear static analysis, response spectrum analysis, time history analysis,buckling analysis and overall stability analysis, are presented. Key problems such as deformation control, cast-steel joint, post-buckling strength of web plate and overall stability are discussed. It concludes that the new structure system has great applicability to irregular-shaped buildings, the structure possesses great sideways rigidity and anti-earthquake performance, it possesses little membrane rigidity and its main working mechanism is the frame action, overall stability problem is not critical to this structure, and it is not sensitive to initial deformation.
