Solid waste in under developed countries has a high percentage of Organic waste which always end up in landfills, because, the level of industrialization in Uganda and other under developed countries is low and mainly depends on farm produce as the main supply of raw material. Most of the factory and household simple processing waste is organic. So compositing is the most appropriate waste management system which is poverty focused because organic compositing yields to Bio-gas, Organic fertilizers which can benefit the common man in their livelihood. Waste Management has a lower priority for planners and policy makers in under developed countries compared to other pressing issues like Disease, poverty, security etc in resource allocation .... This has led to poor waste management systems which have led to poor health environment hence poverty. So this paper suggests sustainable approach with; a) an institutional change, policy reform, building of ownership and participation and Behavior change of stakeholders and an economic understanding. Organic Waste will be an input into organic farms hence contributing to improved livelihoods of the common man and international campaingn to fight global warming.
