Performance of PDMS/PEI membrane for separation of F-B/F-C gas system

The separation of F-B/F-C gas mixture using a home-made spiral PDMS/PEI membrane module has been studied. Experiments were conducted under different operating conditions. Permeability of each component through the membrane and the influences of stage-cut and feed pressure on separation performance were analyzed. The results showed that the average separation factor reached up to 2.34 and the concentration of F-C was enhanced from 78.89% in feed gas to 90.03% in retentate gas under the pressure of 0.6MPa at 22 ??. In addition, simulation has been done basing on the experimental data. According to simulation, the concentration of F-C in retentate gas could reach up to 98.9% by connection of two membrane modules with different areas. Meanwhile, the performance degeneration of membrane was tracked by observing the variation of nitrogen permeation rate.
