Binding Fillers for Paper Applications using Nanoscale Calcium Silicate Hydrate Coating and Nanofibrillated Cellulose

1. Calcium silicate hydrate treatment (chemical and cement) can be used to make nanostructured surface on filler particles 2. Within this novel filler coating process these particles are used with or without nanofibrillated cellulose to enhance paper properties 2.1 Increased modulus of elasticity, tensile strength and opacity of paper 2.2 Decreased strain at break, scattering co-efficient and air permeance 3. The coating process optimization still needed.
