TRAIN INNOVATIVE TALENTS OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING FACING MARKET DEMAND

Mechanical engineering has been one of the three major components of traditional higher engineering education for more than 100 years. At present, our country's higher education is transforming to the mass education. With the deepening of educational reform, the institutions of higher learning are adjusting themselves to fulfill their function of servicing the society and market. Because of this major change, the mechanical engineering education is facing more and more keen competition. Under the new situation, the university mechanical engineering education is facing new opportunities, as well as great challenge. It's very essential to train innovative talents of mechanical engineering to meet the demand of the market. This paper discusses how to formulate mechanical engineering curriculum; how to construct the necessary modem engineering training center; how to bring the teacher's role into full play in the engineering training; and what teaching method should be adopted. It puts forward some practical proposals regarding the above issues.
