Bench-top microfluidic bioassay systems often use biosensors to detect analytes. The efficacy of the bioassay systems is influenced by the mass transport of analytes as sell as the biochemical reactions that occur within the system. This paper describes computational design capabilities that are being developed at CFD Research Corporation for bio-microfluidic assay devices which simulate convective-diffusive mass transport as well as biochemical reaction kinetics in a coupled manner. Simulation results from two sample test cases, one involving enzyme-cat-alyzed reactions and the other involving cooperative ligand-binding knetics for an allosteric protein (hemoglobin), are binding
