ConXsys: A Framework for a Federation of Electronic Product Catalogs

In this paper, we introduce ConXsys, a framework for a federation of autonomous electronic product catalogs. The goal of ConXsys is to provide shoppers with tools that make shopping online fast and convenient. The ConXsys search agent provides users with a signal interface for selecting product descriptions from electronic product catalogs on the Web using structured queries. Because the ConXsys search agent uses structured queries, a shopper may spend less time searching for product descriptions on the Web than with search methods that use unstructured or semi-structured queries.
