The water environment, saturated with a hypoxic oxygen-argon mixture, has a high stimulating effect on hydra (HYdra attenuata) budding in comparison with a water environment saturated with air. The stimulating effect was not only increasing the amount of young buds, but reducing the bud development period in comparison with control groups. A water environment saturated with a hypoxic oxygen-nitrogen mixture has a low stimulating effect on hydra budding.
