摘要

A new Monte Carlo scheme based on the BGK approximation for perfect gases is developed. The index and sample techniques of the standard DSMC method are introduced into the method to avoid increasing memory requirements. The gas distribution is dependent on the local gas relaxation time; therefore the method is named as Relaxation Time Monte Carlo (RTMC) method. The RTMC method exhibits not only good agreements with but also a higher efficiency than the DSMC method in the near continuum flow. The result shows a possibility of a hybrid RTMC/DSMC code for the continuum/rarefied gas flow.
