摘要

In this review paper, we will briefly recall the main properties and microwave applications of ferrites. We will highlight their limitations with regards to the evolution of the practical applications for the telecommunication market. We will discuss possible substitute materials and manufacturing processes which we suggest for the realization of low-cost microwave magnetic devices. Measurement techniques used to study the microwave properties of magnetized nanomaterials will be described. Finally, the performances of composite-based nonreciprocal and tunable proof-of-concepts will be compared to those of microwave ferrite devices.
