Study on the Effect of Rescheduling of PV output Considering Solar Radiation Forecast Error

Recently, photovoltaic generation (PV) attracts great attentions as a countermeasure against the global warming. In this paper, scheduling operation of a large scaled PV power station output using a NAS battery and solar radiation forecast is discussed. In this study, purpose of scheduling operation is to enhance the economical profit considering the revenue obtained from selling the power to an electricity market. Especially, the effect of rescheduling procedure based on the recent solar radiation forecast is discussed. Here, the following two operational penalties are considered in the rescheduling process; the penalty imposed on rescheduling itself and the penalty imposed on the violation of the original scheduled station output. Validity and effectiveness of the proposed rescheduling method is ascertained through computational simulations using the actual PV generation data monitored at the Wakkanai PV power station and solar radiation forecast data provided by the Japan Weather Association.
