The Research of Z39.50 Based Searching Middleware in Digital Library

摘要

Z39.50 has a great potential for satisfying the requirements of the searching middleware in digital library in getting the items in a bulk of heterogeneous resources. This paper begins with the introduction of Z39.50 and the concept of the middleware in digital library and then brings forward the model of Z39.50 based searching middleware in digital library. After that, the paper discusses in detail the processing flow, advantages of the model and the key technologies involved in the implementation of the model respectively. At last, the paper also gives a brief preview of the research in this field.
