The controlled rotary vane compressor is a key component of mixture working medium(air+ water) refrigeration machine, and is an efficient method solving present depletion of the ozone layer (Montreal Protocol, 1988) problems. This component is a new type of efficient and compact compressors, which can be used as middle and small-scale air compressor or be applied to vapor compression refrigeration machine. A comprehensive mathematical model is established, which consists of thermodynamic model, leakage model and heat transfer model. The variation of gas parameters in the real compression process of the compressor is worked out in the computer simulation, and effects of some parameters on the performance of the system are studied. A prototype has been designed, manufactured and tested. Analyses indicate that theoretical models established and the computer programs developed work quite well and have important practical value, and provide a basis for future researches.
