Partial Tracking Strategies for Music Signals

In this paper we provide an overview of the existing algorithms for tracking of partials in music signal. We also introduce our own tracking method based on Kalman filter. Evolution model for our tracker comprises a set of instrument-specific and frequency-dependant models. For different classes of melodic instruments different models are introduced, and for different frequency bins we estimate different set of parameters. We present the results of our Kalman tracker and compare its accuracy with other methods.
